Edwin Carrington the Secretary-General of CARICOM has signed a Financial Agreement to assist CARICOM member states participate in the Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China. The Expo will take place from May 1 to October 31 next year. 70 million visitors are expected to visit the Expo which will involve over 150 countries.
It is estimated that 40 participating countries will build their own national pavilions, many of which are already under construction. Other countries will share collective pavilions such as Africa and Latin America.
The Ministry of Commerce in St. Lucia is seeking to mobilize local participation for the historic event in China.
