The Caribbean Regional Negotiating Machinery (CRNM) is to be absorbed into the CARICOM Secretariat, but it is not clear exactly how this is going to be done. The CRNM was established in 1997 to negotiate trade arrangements on behalf of the Caribbean Community.
A decision was taken by Heads of Government to make the CRNM a unit within CARICOM, after disappointments were expressed with the outcome of some of its negotiations.
