Private Sector Development Strategy To Be Ready By End Of May, 2009

The Office of Private Sector Relations, OPSR, is reporting that the national symposium held recently met its objectives and this augurs well for the island's private sector.

Over 200 representatives of private sector organizations participated in the one-day activity. Managing Director of the OPSR Jacquline Emmanuel said the private sector presentations were excellent and the enthusiasm of participants was maintained right through to the end.     

These contributions will now be taken into consideration as the OPSR attempts to produce a draft of the Private Sector Development Strategy which will then be refined through focus groups and finalized for presentation to the Minister for Commerce. The strategy document will then be taken to Cabinet for approval and forwarded to the European Union for funding.

The strategy document is expected to be completed by the end of May.
