St. Lucia Host Successful 38th CARIFTA Games

The 38^th CARIFTA Championships came to a close in St. Lucia on Easter Monday with St. Lucian athletes putting on a credible performance having won four gold and two silver medals. A newly laid track and spruced up George Odlum National Stadium hosted hundreds of athletes from the French and English speaking Caribbean countries with close to 26 countries participating.

The 38^th CARIFTA Games Championships were held under the theme 'Many Races, One People.' A number of local businesses helped make the games a success, among them the East Caribbean Financial Holding Group of Companies, LIME, LUCELEC, Bryden and Partners Limited, M&C, SLASPA, Bay Gardens Hotel and Paradise Springs water.

The main sponsors of the games were National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago and the Guardian Holdings Limited; both have long standing affiliation with the games.
