Staff of the National Development Corporation had the spotlight place squarely on them when the agency staged its 2009 Staff Appreciation and Recognition Day activity this past weekend.

Held at the Coconut Bay Resort and Spa in Vieux Fort, the January 17th, 2010 exercise grouped staff from the Head Office in Castries, Duty Free Pointe Seraphine and Vieux Fort offices together for a day of fun, excitement and camaraderie.

NDC Chairman, City attorney Vern Gill remarked that apart from fostering greater interaction amongst staff from the various departments, the event importantly allowed the Corporation to officially recognize and pay tribute to its most valued resource - its people. According to Gill, "throughout the year we demand much from our cadre of qualified, dynamic and highly motivated staff; it's only fitting therefore that at some point as an entity we reciprocate tangibly."

Awards were given out in several categories among them; Long Service, Customer Service, Employee of the Year, Department of the Year, The Spirit of the NDC and General Manager's Award. In his remarks NDC's Acting General Manager Timothy Greene stated, "I want to anchor my comments not on the challenges and successes of the past year, but instead to focus on us...we the staff, and on our role in making the National Development Corporation all it can be.  A productive, customer service oriented entity"

Close to forty St. Lucians professionals work with the NDC. Established in 1971, the NDC is St. Lucia's principal agency charged with the responsibility to stimulate, facilitate and promote investment opportunities for foreign and local investors and to promote the economic development of the country.
