New & Exciting Changes for Jazz on the Pier 2010

New and exciting changes are in store for the many patrons who have made attending the annual Jazz on the Pier a regular staple in their jazz diet. Organizers of the event - the National Development Corporation, say those innovating changes come against the backdrop of the seven year old event increasing in stature and subsequently maturity.

Among the changes is a shift in date from the traditional last Friday before the start of main stage activities to a midweek date.  Also for the first time this year Jazz on the Pier will be held in the evening with a 7:00 pm start time.

Duty Free Pointe Seraphine Operations' Manager Ena James says unaffected will be the venue for the event, as the unique complex with its delightful ambience will continue to serve as the home of Jazz on the Pier and will be so decorated to reflect the grandeur of the 7th year anniversary of the event.

"The expectations of patrons will be heightened in that those physical and structural changes will be complemented by an exciting line-up of artistes performing not only contemporary and classical jazz music, but an eclectic blend of other popular genres as well," says James. The new and improved Jazz on the Pier will also serve to fill a void left by the possible scale down of sister event Jazz on the Square.

This year's Jazz on the Pier will take place on Tuesday, May 4th, 2010 at 7:00 pm.
