A new Chairman has been appointed to head the Board of Directors of the National Development Corporation (NDC). The new Board Chairman is well known city attorney Mr. Vern Gill.
NDC's Communications and Special Events Officer John Emmanuel says, "Whereas the Chairman's appointment is new, the other board members remain the same." They are Deputy Chairman Mr. Jodi Boodhoo, Ms. Jacqueline Emmanuel, Mr. Robert Norstrom, and Mr. Pinkly Francis. The board was officially appointed on August 11th, 2008 and will serve for a two (2) year tenure.
The National Development Corporation also places on record its sincere thanks to former Interim Chairperson Dr. Alison Plummer, who will now serve in the St. Lucia Senate following her appointment as Senator earlier this year.
The NDC was established in 1971 by an Act of Parliament and is the principal agency of the Government of St. Lucia with responsibility for promoting and facilitating investment. Over the years the Corporation has maintained close links with government ministries and private sector organizations, in order to offer investors and potential investors a one-stop service experience.
